So I wasn't into The Hunger Games that much when I read it. Mostly it kind of emotionally scarred me and made me sleep with the lights on for a while. I mean, I had my favorite characters (Johanna), and my favorite moments ("they can't hurt me"), but you know. Whatever.

Then I saw Catching Fire, and my entire brain broke at how awesome it was and Tumblr just fed the obsession and all of a sudden everything on my Dashboard was Johanna Mason and 90% of that was Joahanna/Katniss and then this happened at like two in the morning last night and I just don't know, I really just don't know anymore.

Title: Four Times Aphrodite Got Rejected by Someone She Wanted (and One Time She Didn't Even Bother Trying)
Fandom: Xena, Warrior Princess
Pairing: Aphrodite/various. Here there be femslash.
Rating: PG-13-ish.
Word Count: 2192 combined
Notes: For cutmanmetal. None of it's canon, none of it's mine. Please don't sue me, I need that money for college and caffeine. Also, I HATE DIALOG.

1. She was not the one who got away. . .Collapse )

2. The most implausible match of all had nothing to do with her handiwork. . .Collapse )

3. Aphrodite preferred it when mortals were interested in the gods, or at least disinterested in a respectful way. . .Collapse )

4. No matter how angry Aphrodite got, the goddess of love never, ever, shrieked.Collapse )

Rating: I have a G-rated mind, what can I say?
Notes: Some of it is canonically based, but I'm not telling which, because it's all pretty vague, so if you haven't seen the episodes concerned, they don't read as canon detail.

The Microfic Meme

Try to write different categories of fic (angst, fluff, UST, etc) in 10 words or less.

Author: morningafter2
Fandom: Xena - Warrior Princess (surprise)
Pairing: Xena/Gabrielle.
Rating: You know, even the smut isn't particularly smutty, so I would say PG-13, maybe 15+ if you stretch your imagination.
Disclaimer: None of it is mine. Go ahead and sue. I have nothing of monetary value to lose.
Notes: Alright, this was way harder than it seems. Really fun, but really hard. I kept coming up with 11-word stories. For shame, brain. XD Also, kudos to anyone who catches the Avatar: TLA reference I tossed in there. And apparently getting the reference in the x-over one is impossible too, since someone who just watched Firefly didn't get it. I suck. XD

So I've taken a shine to doing miniature character studies. Don't know why, but I have. I figured I would start out with Xena and Gabrielle, with the guideline that what I write would encompass the concept of being alone. So I have one fic for Xena, and one for Gabrielle, both set either pre-series or at the very, very beginning of it (say, within the first ten minutes of the pilot episode). No spoilers for anything that isn't mentioned in the pilot episode, and even those are very mild. No slash (unless you're looking for it, in which case, there might be like, one line that you could take something from. Maybe.), nothing objectionable. This is just me pretending that I'm reasonably prolific for managing to actually pull finger and write something for a change. Enjoy.

So, I've got a claim at 25_prompts, for Xavin and Karolina from Runaways. Given that I'm unprolific to begin with and overworked in any event, I'll likely spend the next three years working on this, but such it is. Here's the table:

01. Money.02. Dark.03. Change.04. Simple.05. Mail.
06. Different.07. Friends.08. Past.09. Future.10. Spring.
11. Summer.12. Autumn.13. Winter.14. Ice.15. Warmth.
16. Television.17. Memory.18. Holiday.19. School.20. Unemployed.
21. Parents.22. Drive.23. Signs.24. Play.25. Alone.

Title: Negations
Author: morningafter2
Fandom: Twilight saga/Xena, Warrior Princess
Word Count: 873(!)
Rating: PG-13, maybe 15 to be on the safe side.
Pairing: Rosalie/Gabrielle
Disclaimer: Every single member of the Cullen clan belongs to Stephenie Meyer, and Gabrielle belongs to... whoever she belongs to. Not me.
Notes: About 98% of this should make sense to readers familiar with the Twilight saga but unfamiliar with Xena, though it doesn't work quite as well the other way around. That said, it's crackfic. It isn't supposed to make sense.

There is nothing special between them beyond the mutual compulsion they both know better than to indulge in.Collapse )

Title: All Matters Left Unresolved
Author: morningafter2
Fandom: Xena: Warrior Princess
Word Count: 306
Rating: G, because that's just how my brain works
Pairing: If we want to be really technical about this, none. It's just general. One would not be wholly unreasonable to argue that because it is Xena and Gabrielle (who are femslash-y by their very nature), and because femslash is what I typically write, something of the sort could be read into this. But if that is possible, I have not figured out how.
Disclaimer: No idea who owns Xena and Gabrielle, but it isn't me.
Notes: Set directly in the pilot episode.

You've got to take me with you, and teach me everything you know.Collapse )
